Luminary pen-smith Feux gets in his indie bag for his latest offering, seeing the blooming talent turn to mustbejohn in their whirling number ‘Lucy’.

Just as he has many times before, Feux only ever seems to baffle true-lovers of the rising sound circulating from our very own small Island, gifting us possibly the most abundant cache of sonic offerings to come in a long-time, and in doing so, presenting a seemingly age-old musician in the form of an up-comer.

So, it’s to no surprise it was about time the kaleidoscopic visionary decided to branch out a little with those low-key vocals he has in the vault, and with that getting into his Yellow Days bag with a helping hand of enigmatic voice mustbejohn.

Gifting us a multitude of versatile sounds, mustbejohn is the upcoming lad bringing through that renowned south-end accent wrapped up in a plethora of intoxicating hooks, as he coasts throughout a sea of infectious soundscapes - gracing us with two-stepping riddims: from the likes of ‘Raining Colours’ and the vocalist’s break-out tune ‘Jenny’s House’.

‘Lucy’ sees the two talents tending to a Yeek type beat, providing that infectious indie/alternative sonic aura that leaves a positively-chilling touch with those twanging guitar riffs drenched in delay, alongside that hypnotising percussion swing. The soundscape itself bangs as it is (shoutout to Mena on the bat), but john couldn’t have complimented this number any more, gracing the instrumental with those uniquely rugged vocals, yet showing a switch up in range hitting those high notes later on.

Nearing the song’s sign-off Feux cooly compliments the number as he coasts smoothly into the second verse with those effortlessly soothing harmonies before breaking off into that captivating succession: 'I try to float so far away-ayay…’. This brudda can really do it all!

‘Lucy’ is the lulling link-up none of us ever knew we really needed until now. Seeing two flourishing artists stepping into a new pool sonically and absolutely smashing it!

Less of me talking though, make sure to run up the numbers on this one - who knows, hopefully we get to see more of this duo in the future!
