Love Your Life
The singer-songwriter from South London Meron T has just released her first single of 2020. In ‘Love Your Life’, she shows a new side to her vocals while still honouring the jazz, neo-soul and hip-hop influences that have shaped her sound over the years. The track explores the emotional tug of war in messy relationships, she sings,
“I can’t control you, You don’t control me, I have to live my life”
Her lyrics project an image of someone who is self-assured and knows what they want, all with a sense of balance.
In comparison to ‘Hunny’ or the tracks on her debut EP ‘Mirage’, producer Darkness has picked up the tempo on this latest release. The sweet tones of Meron’s voice reverberate in the listener’s ear, floating over a dynamic club beat. Darkness is known for producing grime beats, but he has recently been expanding his musical repertoire. ‘Love Your Life’ is layered with gentle synths and a brief guitar solo that emerges towards the end of the track. With Meron’s enchanting vocals, this new single blends genres to craft a distinct celestial sound.
