London Mine
After a whirlwind start to 2019, 20 year old songstress Joy Crookes manages to encapsulate the UK’s endearing metropolitan magic in her new single! From Bangladeshi and Irish descent, Joy's dual identity and her London upbringing play a significant role in both her music and visuals celebrating all areas of society through the eyes of a first-generation Londoner.
‘London Mine' begun its life as a reaction to the Windrush Generation and was written to celebrate the power and importance of immigrant communities in Britain and was later inspiration by The Clash’s iconic ‘London Calling’. In the midst of political chaos Joy set to create her own tribute to the city she grew up in. Having received support Joy continues to prove herself to be one of the UK’s most exciting young songwriters.
