Lego

Already gaining a co-sign from household name Omah Lay in under 18 months of her debut single, the 25-year-old trailblazer Winny has unveiled her latest dancefloor filler, ‘Lego’. Reputed for her genre-bending sound, the Afro-reggae newcomer hails from Benue State, Nigeria into a family that emphasised to her the core values of contentment, love, and faith. Helping to shape her artistic expression from a youthful age, Winny is eager to break boundaries in the music industry by continuing to evolve and push her boundaries both sonically and lyrically.

A melting pot of sounds, ‘Lego’ is a fine blend of R&B, funk, and reggae elements. With the intention of making a song that listeners could get up and dance to, Winny homes in on the duality of being vulnerable. Navigating a turbulent connection, ‘Lego’ explores defending one’s inner peace whilst juggling the ups and downs of a relationship. Harnessed with an infectious groove and glazed with Winny’s silky vocals, ‘Lego’ gives listeners a taste of what’s yet to arrive from the promising talent.

When asked about the release Winny commented, "Lego is all about the emotional struggle of being caught in a complicated relationship, between love and self-protection, while refusing to be taken on an emotional rollercoaster."
