Forget

Transcendent in its simplicity, there is fantastic warmth and cascading colour in Connor Albert and Alice Auer’s new single ‘Forget’. Bedroom beat maker Connor and singer Alive first met in 2019, immediately establishing a friendship and sonic connection. The pair bring out the best in each others musicality, combining to deliver mellow, dream-like timbre with ethereal vocals and luscious, harmonic melodies.

The influence of modern jazz, specifically Tom Misch and Jordan Rakei, is apparent on the quixotic, kaleidoscopic instrumental. 7th guitar chords, naturalistic bass guitar and plunging drums are mixed together with delicacy and panache, offering a musing, heavenly soundscape. The eloquence of the beat is matched by Alice Auer’s celestial vocals, which float around the mix with transient intricacy, sprouting images of innocence and hope through the serene lyricism.

A picturesque bubble of mindfulness and warmth, Forget is a treat to the senses. Don’t deny your ears the pleasure.
