Flippy Dippy

Jacob Plante’s debut album, Flippy Dippy, is a lively and engaging journey through humor, heartfelt reflections, and cultural pride. With a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from the University of Detroit Mercy and advanced degrees in Marketing and Creative Writing, Jacob’s creative journey is nothing short of a rollercoaster ride through the arts!

Nestled in Oak Park, Michigan, Jacob kicked off his artistic career in stand-up comedy and improv, sharpening his comedic chops at The Second City and with Big Fun Limo at the Wunderground Theatre. His acting résumé is just as impressive, featuring gigs in films, commercials, and even a starring role in the Amazon Prime series A Billion to One. Jacob’s talent hasn’t gone unnoticed; he’s snagged the Mahlon Sharp Award for Best Performance and taken home first place in the Detroit n' Hollywood Acting Competition!

Flippy Dippy is a delightful celebration of family and culture, all wrapped up in Jacob’s unique hip-hop flair. A real showstopper is Oak Park Funk, featuring a dynamic collaboration with his 13-year-old son, Adam, who mixed the beats. Their father-son synergy brings a playful energy to the track, making it a must-listen!

Then there’s The Kosher Pepperoni—this fan-favorite track is a whimsical blend of freestyle fun and clever wordplay that’s sure to tickle your funny bone. Meanwhile, Turkey Jive is a touching tribute to Jacob’s son, mother, and his late grandfather, Norbert Jerome Rudy, a WWII vet who packed quite a punch in life.

Let’s not forget The Bubbe Blues, where Jacob pours his heart out in a blues-infused homage to his late grandmother, Delores Rudy.

With its mix of humor, emotion, and cultural references, Flippy Dippy is a playful and poignant ride that solidifies Jacob Plante’s place in the music world as an artist who truly knows how to blend heart and humor.
