Entrepreneur

Progression. One word that embodies Rimzee’s journey in the rap game. Despite only starting to get his flowers from the industry over the last couple of years, Rimzee’s name  has been ringing since 2011. Rimzee's cover of Adele’s Hometown was my first encounter with the rapper, and the highlight of many train journeys to secondary school.  A real East End hero and a Clapton legend, his return to the rap game following a 7-year  hiatus left many old fans with a feeling of cautious optimism. Would he come back and  set the scene alight or would he focus on other ventures? The answer: both.

Rimzee’s return coincided with a focus on substance and lyrical ability, which he provides  to his fans in abundance. Upper Clapton Dream 2 was a pivotal moment, showing everyone how he was taking music seriously and boy, are we grateful. Rimzee has continued to serve the streets with anthems like Expensive Pain as he continues to fly through any ceiling set for him.

Entrepreneur, Rimzee’s latest release, feels like the culmination of all his hard work and is a toast to the rappers drive. Rap is not the be all and end all of Rimzee’s aspirations, as he shows in the video for Entrepreneur, showing his Fulham based restaurant: Burgers &  Bagels. Entrepreneur is full of word play, references to past endeavours and punchy  delivery, all while highlighting how far he’s come. A true comeback story from the abyss to the throne, Rimzee’s here to take it all.
