Don't Go Falling In Love
Mac Wetha links up with some familiar faces in the rather romantically titled Don’t Go Falling In Love out now on Dirty Hit.
Biig Piig returns from her trip to the US to provide long-time friend and collaborator Mac Wetha with her uniquely wistful vocals in what seems like a long overdue catch up both on and off the mic. The former Nine8Collective-ers also recruit London’s Lord Apex for a switch up in delivery and some bevvies in the city.
As for Mac, his last full release Cloud Paint unearthed a few of his better hidden musical tendencies with nods to pop-punk and other more electronic geared sounds a bit further afield from regular ‘hip-hop’, or even the newly coined alt-hip hop which he has produced for numerous artists down the years.
Don’t Go Falling In Love drops on UK independent label Dirty Hit who also house and release music for Beabadoobee, The 1975 and Wolf Alice- prestigious company within the independent scene.
It is as though the cold weather has warmed the hearts of these creatives who are maybe feeling a cosy night in with their loved one… or just want to have that someone all to themselves, either way the hook and video will warm your soul- Friends is to thank for the visuals as they continue the aesthetic captured in Mac’s last single with spill tab ‘Play Pretend’.
