Deeper Than Dark
In an era that is bloated by the constant overload of information - even musically - it is refreshing to hear a song that cuts through with just two elements: a soothing voice and a laid back, fuzzy guitar.
The self-produced track starts with an intimate vocal recording from Pip Millett’s mother, to then showcasing real life songwriting and an emotive performance: “I said I wouldn't get caught up in the beginning/ Now I'm feeling like I got caught up in the middle”, she sings with quiver vocals as light as fallen autumn leaves.
It portrays the condition of a being-carried-by-the wind, yet aware of where she stands, because even the most precious thing, like love, can be a burden if not assessed properly.
