Drawing attention due to its controversial title, Ski Mask the Slump God releases his first single of 2020, entitled ‘Burn The Hoods’. The beat was first teased last year when Ski Mask released a snippet online but then it seemed like the song had been scrapped as nothing was heard of the track afterwards. But Ski Mask later said that he was dropping the song soon, alongside visuals that will be directed by Lyrical Lemonade’s Cole Bennett. The YoungKio-produced beat has a haunting, murderous feel to it, and sits well with the visuals and Ski Mask and friends are seen beating up members of Klu Klux Klan in a battle against racism, inequality and injustice. Ski Mask makes references to the recent events that have been occurring in the USA, and uses ‘Burn The Hoods’ as a newfound political edge as fans eagerly await the release of his sophomore album.
