South East London based producer and DJ Striver has released his fresh new anthem ‘BAD’ featuring West London-based MC Scrufizzer; a naughty Grime and Garage number that is reminiscent of old school tracks from the early 2000s and a strong Dizzee Rascal influence. The song sits on the rest of the project named ‘Recovered Drive 1’.

The song runs with a very nostalgic UK Grime and Garage power that many fans that used to tune into Channel U or more recent online outlets such as SBTV or LinkUp TV would take a liking to. This beat-ridden track has a very minimal sound that sits sturdily alongside Striver’s line of work. After beginning to DJ at the age of 14 and having a regular show on pirate radio station Elite FM, Striver joined the South London collective Nu Brand Flexxx which went on to eventually land a regular slot on Raw UK radio station. With his very first release being ‘Dreaming’ featuring Chanel, SasKilla and Mr.Wong back in 2005, it reached No. 3 in the Channel U charts and was played dozens of times on stations such as 1Xtra. Since then, not only is Striver a prestigious producer in the UKG scene, he has worked with musicians such as Wiley, Tinchy Strider, Nasty Crew, Big Narstie, Flirta D, Carns Hill, Jae5, Maxwell D, P Money and Blacks.

Scrufizzer released his very first mixtape back in 2007 but was an artist who stayed in the shadows for a while before his career blew out of the water in 2011 when he appeared on tracks by Dizzee Rascal’s ‘Guts N Glory’ and a remix by True Tiger of Ed Sheeran’s track ‘You Need Me, I Don’t Need You’. After going on to appearing on Danny Brown’s ‘Dubstep’, he released his track ‘Kick It’ in 2013.
