Ambush Daily Duppy
Ambush dropped his second Daily Duppy last week with deadly execution, he merked down both instrumentals displaying his world class ability as a lyricist.
The North-West Londoner from Camden Town is looking like the next big UK rapper in the scene at the moment. Ambush’s 2018 single Jumpy which can now be considered a UK Classic brought him to attention, he then built on the hype by releasing the remix with UK rap royalty Skepta and Chip. Two years later his debut album ‘Ask My Brother’ was released, a 15 track project which featured the likes of Hollowman, Giggs, D Double E, R.A and C.Biz. He has also proven he’s not just a rapper by creating his own record label Buzzworld Entertainment and dropping a joint project collaboration with the artists signed to his label.
The rapper uses the platform to be a hope for a generation. He expresses his thoughts and feelings on a number of relevant issues and events that took place last year as well as personal problems. Clever word play is used, matched by the imaginative visuals to accompany the video to reflect on mental health issues, the handling of Brexit and the covid pandemic allowing ordinary people to relate to his music. The message for self-love and black empowerment is clear in parts of the Daily Duppy. He pays homage to the US East coast rap group Mobb Deep and makes clever references to popular TV Series BFM and the psychopathic character Lamar played expertly by Kofi Abrefa. The show was produced by 50 Cent. The second instrumental was produced by Sacrxfice who has worked with artists like B ckroad Gee and Meekz.
Ambush really has set the bar high at the start of the year, making fans excited for new music to drop.
