A petition has been made to kick R. Kelly off Soulquaris 2017

The Observatory grounds in Orange County, California have recently released an amazing new lineup for their first ever Soulquaris event taking place in February 2017. It boasts the likes of RnB superstars Erykah Badu, The Internet, Amerie and Brandy to name a few. Topping the bill is another legend, R. Kelly. Undoubtedly he is a legend on the mic but it's his troubling after-hours activities that have brought him under attack once again.

A petition has popped up on Change.org to "Kick R.Kelly's rapist ass off the Soulquaris lineup". Started by Jamie Thompson, this petition has now racked up over 400 signatures and is well on its way to reaching its target of 500. 

The description states: "2017 is around the corner and many of us still have to look on in disgust as a proven predator, rapist, and serial abuser of young Black girls and women remains embraced in the world of music. Stop booking this man. Stop supporting this man. There's great power in having a voice. Let's send a message that the music is not "separate" and the abuse of girls and women is *never* okay, no matter who you are or how many timeless ballads you've contributed to the world." 

Let's see what happens when the goal has been met.
