1 2 WATCH: James Lamb

Next up in our 1 2 WATCH series is London based songwriter and rapper James Lamb, who has just released his debut solo single ‘These Old Feelings’.

Having grown up in a musical family, throughout his teenage years James became an adept performer, working with rock bands to establish a commanding stage presence and a skill for improvisation and freestlying. James’ craft for writing was fine-tuned by these experiences, and has so far gained hype for his collaboration with Dutch artist AKA Block. Their joint track ‘3 Words’ has amassed over 2 million streams and was featured on Daniel Radcliffe’s recent film Guns Akimbo. James has also enjoyed success as part of the duo 11 Roses, an electronic pop duo. James and the other member of the duo, producer Richard Craker, co-wrote James’ new single.

Lamb’s debut single, ‘These Old Feelings’ sits firmly in the sphere of alternative rap, with the influence of jazz and lo-fi evident on the misty, understated instrumental. James flows smoothly over the meticulous beat, confidently mellow in his sharp yet buttery delivery. James’ skill for songwriting is apparent on the single, as the artist offers introspective musings and intelligent wordplay throughout the 3 minute run time.

Discussing the track, James explains

An exciting newcomer to the alternative rap field, expect James to become a household name in the UK underground.
